Diaphragm valve is a special type of valve with cutoff function. Its
disc is composed of a diaphragm made of steel disc and soft materials (rubber and fluoroplastic composite), and separate the body inner cavity from the bonnet inner cavity. When the handwheel is operated clockwise, the stem will move downward, and the disc will drive the diaphragm downward to cut off the passage, otherwise, the valve will open. 1. The composite membrane separates the lower inner cavity of the body from the
stem, disc and other internals on the upper part of the membrane from the medium,
while also ensuring the purity of the medium, and preventing both intemal and
external leakage of the medium.
2. The membrane made of FEP (Teflon) fluoroplastics and synthetic rubber and the
corrosive medium except for "molten alkali metal and elemental fluorine".
3. As actuator, the diaphragm is prone to fatigue fracture due to frequent opening and
closing. Therefore, it should be tested for working conditions, media, and
characteristics, and replaced regularly.
